LATEST NEWS -
Sense and Perception - 12th, 13th, 14th March - Spring Conference 2010 - The Ammerdown Conference Centre, Radstock, Bath

Brand new
conference details for March 2010

This AGM and conference is the second in our series of eco conferences and workshops pioneered by the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Energy Medicine, continuing the theme of understanding Energy Medicine. It is intended to last until 2012, with the presentation of appropriate documentation to the CSP.

The programme has been set up in response to requests from members.  A review of our membership shows that there are at least 45 different therapies practiced.

It has become clear that there is an urgent need to clarify exactly what unites these therapies under the umbrella of Energy Medicine within the CSP.  We are also aware of the need to ‘walk our talk’ and to select our conference venues according to the principles of our practice.  We will endeavour to hold these meetings in venues which are easily accessible by public transport and foster our own relaxation at a low cost.  Please join us in our new programme and meet fellow physiotherapists who are committed to the concept of natural medicine. The programme is currently in 7 sections:

1. The therapist and the environment

2. Sense and perception

3. Internal and external movement

4. Effects and outcomes

5. Measurement

6. Collating the philosophies

7. Integration with Physiotherapy

    Welcome

This Association provides a broad forum for enquiry, debate, and presentation of Energy Medicine concepts and therapies. The association does not exist to promote any particular therapy, but rather to look at the underlying principles.

We have a reputation for openness, honesty and care towards each other, providing a safe ambience for open discussions and interaction with a good dose of humour.

    Aims
    • To explore and improve our understanding of the wide range of bio-energy therapies, which are based upon the concepts of energy medicine
    • To improve our clinical practice, efficacy, patient care and ourselves in a truly holistic way.

Energy medicine views all living systems in terms of an informational network of currents, fields and frequencies that form the 'living matrix'.  This network continually processes body and mind into an interacting, purposeful, living whole.

Energy medicine therapies aim to optimise health and encourage healing by augmenting the natural healing energies of mind and body to achieve an optimum state of health and function.

Research provides increasing clinical support for case history evidence indicating that energy medicine therapies provide physical and mental benefits far greater than
    just placebo responses.

Whether these therapies are classified as bio-energy, subtle energy, complementary or alternative, their common philosophy is that illness, injury or disease does not exist in diagnostic isolation.  The whole is affected and the whole needs to return to health.

An increasing number of physiotherapists are exploring these therapies and integrating them successfully within traditional techniques to facilitate optimum health and quality of life.
