ACPEM ANNUAL CONFERENCE & AGM 2009
SPRING CONFERENCE 20th, 21st, 22nd MARCH
VENUE: THE GREENWOOD CENTRE, IRONBRIDGE, TELFORD, SHROPSHIRE

Enhancing awareness of the therapist and the environment

This AGM and conference marks the first of a series of eco conferences and workshops pioneered by the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Energy Medicine (ACPEM). Continuing to understand what we mean by Energy Medicine. It is intended to last until 2012, with the presentation of appropriate documentation to the CSP.

The programme has been set up in response to requests from members.  A review of our membership shows that there are at least 45 different therapies practiced.  It has become clear that there is an urgent need to clarify exactly what unites these therapies under the umbrella of Energy Medicine within the CSP.  We are also aware of the need to ‘walk our talk’ and to select our conference venues according to the principles of our practice.  We will endeavour to hold these meetings in venues which are easily accessible by public transport and foster our own relaxation at a low cost.  Please join us in our new programme and meet fellow physiotherapists who are committed to the concept of natural medicine. The programme is currently in 7 sections:

1. The therapist and the environment

2. Sense and perception

3. Internal and external movement

4. Effects and outcomes

5. Measurement

6. Collating the philosophies

7. Integration with Physiotherapy

This year’s conference on the Therapist and the Environment will be led by Paul Francis, who has been a homeopath, counsellor and polarity therapist for many years.  Paul is also trained as a shamanic practitioner and regularly holds workshops and training courses in integrating this ancient spiritual practice into modern day medicine. Therapeutic Shamanism combines the principles of shamanic practice with body psychotherapy and physical health.  During the workshop you will be able to:

Learn about Shamanism and explore new dimensions for personal growth and spirituality.

Enter a shamanic journey and learn how to journey for others

Explore shamanic concepts of health and illness, and learn practical shamanic healing techniques

Integrate the practice with physiotherapy
